Personal Messages from our family:
Misty Frith
My name is Misty Frith. My daughters and I spent almost ten years in a very violent, abusive relationship.
I have worked as a dispatcher and a deputy jailer. Throughout the turmoil that I lived with, I earned my associates degree in Applied Science and completed paramedic school.
My daughters and I have learned to take the rough times in life and turn them into some thing positive. I wrote the book to share my story in hopes that other women will be able to transform their own lives and to live and pursue their dreams.

Ashley Frith
My name is Ashley Frith. My mom, sister and I have become advocates for domestic violence victims. We want to help others so they do not suffer as long as we did. We want to help the victims realize it will be okay if they leave their abuser.
We want to help children to understand that it is okay to tell an adult what is happening to them. They do not have to hide and keep the secret and suffer alone.

Serena Pratt
My name is Serena. I am 12 years old. I have a wonderful sister named Ashley. My mom is Misty and my dad is Matt. We have an amazing life now. I get to be a kid and there is no more screaming, fighting, abuse or control. I have two chickens, two fish and a dog named Bear. My dad taught me how to ride dirt bikes and I love it. He made me a dirt bike track and it is so much fun. You can live a happy life after abuse and I want others to know that.
About my book:
We went to eat at El Publito's. It was my mom, sister and I's favorite place to eat. Roger was mad and accused my mom of flirting with the waiter. She said no she wasn't. He said yes she was. He kicked her under the table in her bad ankle and then threw his glass of tea in her face. He then got up and walked out. We cleaned up what we could and then left. I was so angry at him and embarrassed. My sister and I had to help mom walk because her ankle hurt so bad. When we got home and I shut the door Roger said I slammed it. He grabbed me by the neck and started choking me. My mom screamed at him and started hitting him and he stopped and walked away.
Roger took most of my childhood. Being in an abusive home life is rough. I want to do something to help others and that is why I wrote this book. I want others to see what is going on in some peoples lives and I want victims to know it is ok to tell the truth and ask for help.
